ROOKHOW
LAKE DISTRICT group accommodation & woodland
OPEN DAYS
Come and look around Rookhow, hear about its history and wander in the woods. Our friendly volunteer guides will be happy to show you around and serve you some tea/coffee and cake. Historic England Open Days are held on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month 10am-4pm.
There will be a Quaker Meeting on these days 12.30-1pm. All are welcome even if you haven't been to a Quaker Meeting before.
ONLINE EPILOGUE 1ST & 3RD MONDAYS 9pm
A reflective Epilogue is held on the 1st & 3rd Mondays of each month at 9pm (20mins) on Zoom. Someone shares a poem or reading & then we have a short period of silence to reflect. A chance to re-focus at the beginning of the week. Quakers and non-Quakers welcome.
We'll open the Zoom room at 8.55pm & you're welcome to stay for a chat afterwards.
RECONCILIATION & CONFLICT TRANSFORMATION 14th-16th March 2025

***SAVE THE DATE***
300th anniversary weekend 6th-8th June 2025
A weekend to celebrate the 300th anniversary of the foundation of Rookhow with a special Meeting for Worship on Saturday 6th June at 12noon
"Just to say that yesterday's workshop will cheer me on my way for weeks to come"
"I enjoyed the camaraderie, warmth, respect, thoughtfulness. Lovely to meet with others and talk at a depth and to hear others' experiences."
“I valued having the space to be listened to without judgement and in silence.”
"I'd had contact with Rookhow and other Quakers over the past few years, but hadn't kept up contact. When I saw this weekend advertised I thought it would a great opportunity to really dive into things among a group of like-minded people.”
“I finally felt among a group of people who are on the same journey as I am - all at different points, some points I recognised as having been there and some I knew may be further ahead, but I received a great comfort, some challenge, and the most touching and profound experiences of my life.” (Curious about Quakers weekend)
ROOKHOW ALL AGE ZOOM GAMES
In lockdown we held some hilarious Zoom socials for Quakers of all ages from the 3 local Area Meetings. We have produced a resource (see below) which people are welcome to use. If you are able, please give a donation (see 'Support Rookhow' page).
